We are attempting to trace our family back to New York state. On his marriage license, my gg grandfather EDMOND LOWELL BRIGGS states that he was born (b. May 29, 1829) in Wyoming County, New York, to JAMES and MARIA BRIGGS. Have no idea if Edmond had any siblings, but after moving to Wisconsin (sometime between 1846 and 1850) he lived with a BENJAMIN BRIGGS and wife LYDIA, so it's possible Benjamin is an older brother or an uncle. Both Benjamin and Lydia were born in New York according to Wisconsin census figures, it would be nice to think in Wyoming County as well.
