    3. Trish was commenting on the fact that even as recently as the late 1960's, newspapers tended to refer to married women (if their husband was alive) as "Mrs. Homer Simpson" for example. Anyone who tries to use such old information in their research knows how frustrating it can be not to find the wife's first name, or even both names as is usually done today (e.g. "Mrs. Marge (Homer) Simpson").
