S. Air Force to assume a staff position with Senator Barry Goldwater on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Donald KREPPS was elected president of the Lime Lake Sportsmen's Club. Deaths: Curriers native Geraldine WOOLLEY THOMPSON, 68; Merle ROBLEE, 92, of Farmersville Station; Lynn HOLMES, 62, of Arcade; John WILSON, 87, of Freedom; Ivah McCORMICK JONES, 80, of Sandusky; Kathryn PETERS SCHROEDER, 78, of Arcade. 35 Years Ago - March 20, 1969 Ron TOJDOWSKI, a member of Arcade's last wrestling team, won the state championship at 168 pounds with an exciting come-from-behind final match. Robert THOMAS was elected mayor of Arcade to succeed Hayden ROSIER, who did not seek re-election. Howard PECKHAM was elected to his third term as mayor of Delevan. Deaths: Floyd WHITNEY, 66, of Machias; Marie VANDERWATER DRAYER, 76, formerly of Machias. 50 Years Ago - February 18, 1954 The parishioners of St. Patrick's Church in Java Center gave a farewell dinner for the Reverend David CAHILL, who had been their priest for 18 years. Father CAHILL had been transferred to Medina and was to be succeeded by the Reverend Robert GALBRAITH of Limestone. Jane NUTTER was elected president of the Arcade Monday Research Club. Gail CHAPMAN, elementary supervisor oat Delevan-Machias, accepted a new position in Clarence. Deaths: John WLASNIEWSKI of Holland; Leonard WESTFALL of Sandusky; Flora SAVAGE, 88, of Holland; Emma SEAMAN RICHARDSON, 40, formerly of Bliss.
