Dear Wyoming Co. Listers, I would like to let everyone on the list know that I have created a Gainesville Rootsweb Site. You can find it at www.rootsweb.com/~nycgaine/, or reach it from the Wyoming County Page. I have gotten quite a bit of the information from Stanley Rutherford - the Gainesville Historian, his wife Judy, and Mary Mann - the Librarian in Silver Springs. I am most pleased with the cemetery listings from Stan & Mary, the 1866 map and an index created from that, Revolutionary War Soldiers with service & pension records, church records from the Silver Springs United Methodist Church, and a history & 1858 catalogue of the Gainesville Female Seminary. I hope you will go to the site and give me your feedback. I have big plans (dreams), such as adding histories for local businesses (eg. "The Bee Hive" or Davis' store), transcribing baptism, marriage and death records for the other churches, and finding graduation programs from some of the district schools. If you have material that I could post, I would be glad to get it. If you have ideas for subjects and sources, that would be great too. I am really enjoying doing this website, doing some research myself, meeting people interested in the area, and being able to make the material that Stan and Mary have collected more accessible. I hope you enjoy it too. If you have considered creating a town site, I would encourage you to do it. It really isn't hard, and is a great hobby. There are many people and resources on line that will help. Best Regards, Randy Hume, Chalfont, PA
