Fire damaged the Norman ZECHES home near Machias. The Delevan Village Board awarded a $23,989 contract for a new ambulance. Deaths: Alan BLECHA, 28 formerly of Machias; Stanley "Junior" BRIDENBAKER, 52, formerly of Arcade. 35 Years Ago - January 30, 1969 The Arcade Area Chamber of Commerce presented its Distinguished Service Award to local industrialist Charles ARONSON. Machias firemen re-elected Floyd DALTON chief and elected Robert FULLER president. Dale FERINGTON succeeded Thomas JORGENSEN as president of the Java-Strykersville Kiwanis Club.
