Catie KUTZUBA had the role of Dorothy in the Pioneer Middle School's production of "The Wizard of Oz." Chaffee native Kathy O'DELL earned a Ph.D. in art history, from the City University of New York. Jane VACINEK opened E & F Simply Yarns in the Arcade Village Square on West Main Street. Other winning supervisor candidates included Frank SMITH in Yorkshire, Donald JAQUISH in Freedom, Lincoln ROBLEE in Farmersville, William FRANCZAK in Holland, Leonard CONNELLY in Arcade, William OLSOWSKY in Eagle, Vincent GEORGE in Java and Earl DOMINESEY in Sheldon. Charles NEWMAN of Arcade was elected Wyoming County judge. Craig HELMS played the lead in the Pioneer senior play "Don't Drink the Water." KNIGHT in Arcade, Merton PERRY in Eagle, Vincent GEORGE in Sheldon, Marvin SAMPSON in Farmersville, Mearl WEAVER in Yorkshire, Richard WIEDEMANN in Sardinia and Harry HERRMANN in Holland. Arthur CARLSEN, who had been Sardinia supervisor since 1952, was elected to represent the 20th District in the Erie County Legislature. Hyland DAY Jr. of Arcade was elected president of the Wyoming county Farm Bureau. Ronald CUDWORTH was elected president of the Arcade Men's Club. Wilton NEIDRAUER was elected president of the Chaffee-Sardinia Kiwanis Club.
