    3. There are plenty of us descendants of the Loyalists in Canada, yes. I am one, descended from the Merritt and Travis lines that came north following the Revolution, both from that area. Check out the United Empire Loyalists Association. There are many, including my Henry Depew, who was in for the entire war, first with the Westchester County Militia and then Van Cortlandt's Regiment I have 2 generations that have no paper trail or headstones, only Franklin Couch's work and Chauncey Depew's book. I am heavily into researching Rev War soldiers who died at Fishkill and unless someone applied for a pension, or if the service records or muster rolls were destroyed by fire, never turned in or whatever....there is no proof. Muster Rolls on fold3.com are not complete, but it is the best we have unless I find a military journal or diary that was done in great detail. I am over half way through reading every muster roll for NY, then I will move on to CT and the other states. There are many men who I suspected died at Fishkill Supply Depot's hospital and go looking for service records and pensions. Then I check SAR or DAR apps and there is nothing or conflicting info in the records. Case in point, one had this man born in Ireland, the other in Long Island. Do not even take early SAR or DAR records as correct- keep searching for valid proof. This is why many people now must reprove lines to get accepted into those organizations. Hospital records are few and far between. I need to find papers belonging to the doctors who were assigned to Fishkill's hospital to see if any records they kept still exist. I asked a librarian and top researcher at the David Library and they concur it will be my only way to find those lists which would have names of men who did. You might find societies for Descendants of Tories in Canada. Phil, I think David See researches Yerks, I may be wrong . I am not sure if he is still on this list. I know he did See, VanTassel and I thought Yerks. Maybe Jean Ann can remember.
