The film she looked at said that his death was recorded in Kensico and so I sent the correct funds and document request to Mt. Pleasant. It was returned to me and so I called their office. I spoke to the woman who did the search and she told me that she looked through the entire month of July 1889 and could not find the record. She also noted that the death certificate number was too many digits for that year. She thought it might be a gravesite number at Kensico Cemetery but I knew it was not since I know where Robert Carroll is buried in Rye Brook. I double checked with the cemetery and they confirmed he was not buried there. I'd like to avoid sending off to the NY state office for these records because it can take as long as six to eight months for a reply. I've also checked with Greenwich (CT) town records because of the proximity of Westchester and Fairfield counties. They do not have any record of his death. I also checked with the cemetery he is buried in but their records for that era have been lost. Is there anyone who would be willing to take the information that I have and see if they could track down the actual certificate? I will be happy to reimburse for costs of doing so. The information is as follows: Robert Carroll; death July 30, 1889; Cert Number 26498; Kensico (the town that registered the death) Thanks.
