A quick check on Ancestry shows a Fanny Louise Valentine b abt 1837, married to James Scott b 1839. She died April 22, 1864 in St Louis, St Louis Co, MO and is buried in the Green-wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, Kings Co, NY. They had 2 children, John Valentine Scott b abt 1859 in NY. Eliza Valentine Scott was born March 1862 in Missouria. There's a great deal of information on her including husband, children, residences, etc. probably put there by a descendent of Eliza. Fanny's father is listed as John Valentine, Esq, born abt 1817 in New York City, lived in Brooklyn in 1860 and died before 1864. If he really was an attorney, you may find more information on him through city directories. when I looked quickly at the 1860 census they used for a citation, this guy was a butcher and had no Fanny or Frances so who knows its validity.
