    1. [NYWESTCH] Tarrytown Birth Records - William Francis Galvin - 1866
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: varlea1 Surnames: Galvin Classification: birth Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.westchester/7279/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My grandfather was born in Tarrytown, August 1866. We do not know his parents' names, so I'm trying to find a birth record. His parents might have worked at a large estate; his father might have died before he was born, due to complications from a Civil War injury or disease. His father's name might have been Patrick. His parents were most likely both born in Ireland, but his mother might have been born in Canada English. (different info on census records) When he was a small child, his mother died, and an aunt? came "down" (from upstate? Canada?) to take care of him. He also might have had an older brother. Any birth record leads appreciated! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. The library in Tarrytown has all the birth and death records. Google for the address. I know that it is on Broadway.
