It refers to something called "Manuscripts of Colony and State of New York in the Revolutionary War". It looks like it has the following references for William Yerks. Volume 13, folio 55 Volume 16, Folio 180 Pension Papers Volume 42, Folio 70, page 12 Volume 50, Folio 93, page 3 I could not find an exact match for this, but.... It also mentions... "Robert's New York In The Revolution, page 266 or 286 I did find "New York in the Revolution as Colony and State", by James Arthur Roberts on Google Books. It does mention a William Yerkis on page 226. http://books.google.com/books?id=1JMLAAAAIAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=New York in the revolution as colony and state&hl=en&sa=X&ei=wPqeT4W1OcSH6QHNks2ODw&ved=0CDIQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=New York in the revolution as colony and state&f=false Anybody have any idea what the actual name of "Manuscripts of Colony and State of New York in the Revolutionary War" is and/or where I can find it? I looked in "New York in the Revolution as Colony and State" and William YERKIS is actually on page 206. I have an original and the reprint put out by Genealogical Publishing and the pages are the same between both versions. William is listed with the "Westchester County Militia-First Regiment" The officers were; Col Joseph DRAKE, Col James HAMMAN, Major Jonathan HORTON, Major Jonathan H. PAULDING, Quarter Master Richard GARRISON. Captains; Jessie BAKER, Nicolas BERRIEN, George COMB, Joseph DRAKE, Israel HONEYWELL, Daniel MARTLING, Jonas ORSOR, Gabriel REQUAW, Richard SACKETT; Lieutenants, Benjamin BROWN, William DAVIS, Daniel DeVOE, Nathan FISH, Nathaniel GARRISON, Jonathan KNAPP, Henry LAMBERT, Hezekiah MILLER, William MOSHER, Isaac REQUA, Cornelius Van TASSELL, Jacob Van TASSELL, John Van WORT, Willaim WARNER, Daniel WILLIAMS, Ensign's, Thomas BOYCE, John OAKLEY, Peter PAULDING, Stephen SHERWOOD, Isaac VALENTINE, Jr. Hope this sheds some light on your family.
