Let's see---Edward Fairchild went to Newtown about 1707. He is my ancester and his farm stayed in the family until 1924, etc. I think his brother? or uncle? went to Redding and thence he started the felting industry there and the famous hat factory in East Norwalk??? These Fairchilds were descended from marriages with a Wheeler and a Beach. On the other hand, My Sherwoods descend from Issac of Hulls Farms to his son David to his daughter Sarah who married John Carley, etc. Issac, later in Westchester, descends somehow from Thomas Sherwood of Stratford. It is our family tradition to say that Thomas Sherwood and Thomas Fairchild( they married the Seabrook sisters) were merchants who purchased Milford,CT, from the Indians for the King. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara de Mare" <barbarademare@yahoo.com> To: <nywestch@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 06, 2007 7:38 PM Subject: Re: [NYWESTCH] GEOGRAPHY EXPERT > We must be apron strings cousins also.
