My John Bouton was born 1615 and married in Boston 1636 in Boston, Mass. to Alice KELLOGG or PRATT. I am pretty sure it was Kellogg and havethe Kellogg geneology which kind of backs itup. Anybody out have verification of that? Johns father was Richard Boughton, baptised March 1572 Ipswich, England. My Bouton line goes down to Mercy who married Eliphalet Slawson November 2, 1724. Mercy's parents were: John Bouton B.1684 and died in New Cannan, CT, and MercyHickock ( Hickox ), B. 1688. She died in Stamford, CT. 1728. I also have Betsy Bouton born in Pound Ridge, NY in 1785 who married Richard Miller Jr. Betsy's parentswere Jesse Bouton born 1741 i (I have Cannan CT. but I'm pretty sure it as New Cannan ). and Rachel Ferris. My Westchester and nearby CT. famlies in my geneology are: Bouton, Miller Marvin, Miller, Reynolds, Seely, Pennoyer, Kellogg, Ambler Belding, Slawson, Bates, Hickc/Hickox, Upson, Clawson/Clason, Holmes, Robertson, ect., ect,.. Both are graduates of Arlington High. He was Class of 1952 and she was 1954 . Marianne- This is a challenging Bouton discussion because my Mercy Bouton was prob born in New Cannan before her parents moved to Blue Point. Long Island about 1759 where she married (1)Allaben and then after some children and he died, she married my (2) Joel Carley of Hillsdale. However, they seem,along with other Boutons of this Samuel line of John, to have gone to Roxbury/Delhi area and were not after all in Westchester. John Bouton's family married into many,many,almost every family of early Norwalk. Most of these families(several of mine) also migrated into Westchester--Salem, Bedford,and all areas. Bob Lefler(Rockwell/Keeler/Whitney/Hoyt/Ferris,Knapp,etc) John Bouton b 1684 came to New Cannan but you have to remember that he first was in Norwalk itself and that New Cannan came along later when it was only a church district as were Wilton and Ridgefield. They were all just parts of the Norwalk Proprietary Colony settled from Fairfield(There was no Westport even thought of).
