Hi Joan, I have not done ANY research on the Turneys at all as yet. The Turneys that Barbara and I mentioned are very early ones .....back in the 1600s in CT. If I were you I'd go back from the Peekskill Turney family. Did you try the 1870 census?? 1860?? Neighboring towns?? Death certificates too should be easily available for those death dates and some have a wealth of pertinent info. Please let me know what you find.
