    3. Actually most lists ask that submitters insert the surname or topic one is inquiring about in the subject line. In the content of the message, we normally use CAPITAL letters for surnames. This format facilitates reading; one can quickly review the query. It is also most helpful if the submitter includes dates and/or time period along with locations/states/provinces, etc. Most researchers are on several mailing lists and receive a lot of messages, providing the above info helps to ensure that we don't overlook queries/info that may be relevant to our research or be able to provide assistance to fellow researchers.
