Perhaps someone researching in Westchester County, NY can provide some help to get my research back on track. Background: I am researching Jotham WRIGHT, a Lieutenant in the Continental Army. He was supposedly born in Rye, NY, ca. 1751. His home was "about 12 miles from Peekskill, near WestPoint." After the war he lived in New York City, where he and his wife, Elizabeth Dusenbury, had their six children baptized in the First Presbyterian Church of New York City. He is found in NYC in the 1800 census. A mortuary notice in The Observer, of 10 February 1811, indicates he was buried between 26 Jan and 2 Feb 1811, age 59. A genealogy of the Wright family of Oyster Bay, L.I., by Perrine, states: "[He is] said to have died at Tarrytown, N.Y." My Question: Is there a conveniently available list of cemeteries around the Tarrytown area, that existed as far back as 1811, and whose records are available somewhere, in some form, accessible to researchers? Of course this assumes he was buried near where he died and not hauled back to NYC or some other place. Any help appreciated. Dick Randt Ellicott City, MD
