    3. The New Brunswick Provincial Archives looks like a great site. Just a note of caution. I made only one search. I used the Vital Statistics Search Engine. I searched for births, marriages and deaths all at once, and I used the Soundex option. I was struck by the fact that there were exactly 200 hits in each category. Each category was arranged alphabetically. After looking at all three carefully, I believe that the search engine finds all hits (could be 300 or more), alphabetizes them, then displays the first 200 in ten groups of 20 each. When the hits are over the maximum, the resulting webpages do have a note that says, "Your search has returned the maximum number of records allowed, more records may be available, you may wish to refine your search criteria and try again." I only report this because someone might see a list of births that ended too soon and think that it was the real end of the hits (if they didn't read the note above). If the surname you seek is alphabetically beyond the the 200th hit, you won't be able to find it using the Soundex search. In that case, try several exact spellings. Cliff C. I hope some of our stateside municipalities would check it out and take a lesson in what's possible. >Charles > > >
