With all this information about SMITHS zipping through cyber space, I can't help but jump in and inquire if anyone has any information about a Mary Ann Smith, b. 1813 in Connecticut and died May 26, 1901 in Richfield Springs, Otsego Co. NY. She was married to Nathan Layten, b 1806, d.1872 in Richfield Springs, NY. Apparently late in life she married a Buell, however I found her death certificate listen under Layten. The one and only thing I wanted from that birth certificate were her parent's names -- Smith was written as her father and her mother's name was so badly smudged, it's impossible to read. I've yet to recover from that disappointment! All records indicate her birth place as Conn. -- no city or town! Another disappointment! Mary Ann was my great grandmother! HELP!
