    3. Received many suggestions on last notice. Looking for new ones. The home sent him at age 15 in 1895 to a Mr. Ward in Yorktown, Westchester, NY for 2 years. Then in 1897 he was sent to Mrs. Gannon in Croton, Westchester, NY. I have not been able to find either of this guardians listed anywhere. I don't know anything about the cities or the people any suggestion. He finally became a Hoisting Engineer and received a Certificate of Superior Craftsmanship from the the NY Building Congress for work on the Graybar Building dated May 20, 1927. Was this a normal way of thanking people during that time? 3. One thing to consider regarding the term "Croton". Not only do you have Croton-on-the-Hudson, but also you have Croton Falls, near North Salem. Having said that, the 1900 Census lists a Gannon family in North Salem, but he is not listed. Seeing as NY has an age of emancipation at 21, he should have been listed with the family, unless he was sent off to school by that time. Robert S.
