Marty: My family did about the same thing. They were Dutch Reformed and came to New York, some went to New Jersey. A couple went to Canada during the War and started families up there. After the Revolutionary War they started moving West to Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, California and Oregon. My major problem is what spelling of the surname to research in France. Here in the states the most popular spellings were FORSHAY, FORSHEE and FOSHAY. But like I said earlier I have found it spelled about 46 different ways.
