I too have become very involved in genealogy, and have honored my parents. My mother Marita Furman Mc Nutt wanted badly to be a member of DAR. It took considerable time and research to prove the connection to the Patriot Reuben Ross, because there are two of them and only one received a pension. So in 1995 mom received her DAR certificate. I have gone on to find 3 more patriots. And to add to their memory, my sister, friends and family were able to raise money for a well to be drilled on the site of the Saboba Medical Centre, in Saboba, Ghana, where dad built the first clinic, and mom did the very first 'nursing' by cleaning and bandaging ulcers. The mechanized well became operational Dec 2006. A bronze plaque had been mounted in their honor. This has caused me to try to further help the people of the area. There are plans to celebrate the 60th anniversary of this medical work next year. I do hope I get to go. My parents were simple imperfect people, who made a contribution It has been fun to honor them'
