    3. Has anybody heard of " County Farms" or " Country Farms" ? I believe in Brooklyn, NY. As the infant died there but came from Astoria, Queens. A 5 month infant of a g.uncle of mine - I found out died and was buried there in 1913. Undertaker is - D.P.C. - no address. Thank you, June :-)

    3. I remember many years ago the "old folks home" was called the County House. Old people who were destitute and had no family or friends to take care of them went there. There were no nursing homes then as we know them now and no insurance to pay for such things. The rich went to "convalescent homes" or had in home help and the poor if lucky had someone to take care of them.
