    2. It was only maybe 6 or 7 years ago and we were on a vacation/genealogy research trip in West Virginia. We walked into the office in Charleston and got copies of my husband's LIVING aunts and uncles BIRTH certs without any ID and they were something ridiculous like $3.00 each! They did not have one of his aun'ts birth record so we looked on the microfilms at the Archives, my husband found it and we drove to the town where she was born and got a certified copy for her WITHOUT showing any ID!     3. I read somewhere a few years ago that New York State was the "black hole of genealogy". New Jersey must be second in line.LOL.
