Regarding the SCHULZ family that lived on Cortland Ave., in the the Bronx in 1880's. Is there any chance that your SCHULZ name was often confused with SCHUTZ name? I have a MICHAEL or JACOB SCHUTZ and JOHANNA living on Cortland Ave. JOHANNA SCHUTZ was the mother of CATHERINA/CATHERINE SCHUTZ who married a PETER HUDSON. In 1860 they lived side by side and then after that I can't find them anywhere on the census'. By 1880 PETER and CATHERINE were living on Cortland Ave. and he died on the corner of N.E. corner of Morris Ave. and 151st. St., the Bronx. Peter and Catherine Hudson had several children, Catherine, Caroline, Christina, Margaret, Jacob and a Mary. The only other information I have on Johanna Schutz is that she is buried at Calvary Cemetery, Queens, along side her son in law, Peter Hudson. I do not know what became of Michael. Just thought I would see if these names meant anything to the person looking for Schulz family. Jeanne C. Appel
