    3. When I went to school it was never necessary to send anyone home because they didn't speak English. Even later on when the German girl I mentioned and her brother came over here they learned to speak English just fine. He was 6 yrs old and in a short time spoke English with NO accent. She was 15 and spoke with a very slight accent for a couple of years. Ay home they had to speak German, or Russian, or Polish all of which they had learned to speak fluently in Europe because their mother never learned a word of English and their father was not far behind.
