Would there be a passenger list database somewhere of those who were in NY but later left to go back to their old country? I have an ancestor which appears as if he arrived in NY about 1885/86, probably stayed until about 1893 based on children's birth places on passenger lists & census records, then went back to Slovakia and then came back sometime around 1901/1902. I'm trying to fill in some gaps as to when he left the U.S. Not sure if he applied for citizenship during his first time here or his 2nd. Drivations in spelling are compounding the problem of accurately locating the family name in immigration and census records. --------------------------------- Looking for a deal?
