Carol, I've gotten 3 Civil War Records from NYS Archives. They are worth the $3.00, but really limited to military interest; Date of birth, where enlisted, time in service, any transfers, promotions, demotions, AWOL, ect. The state of Illinois charges $10- and all you get is the name on a roster with the name of the town of enlistment. Charles
