It may be easier to tell the whole story, there was 6 Healy or Healey siblings, 3 of whom went to America, the other 3 stayed in Ireland and is where they are buried. Their father was suppose to have bought a piece of land from a Deane man in the 1860s as the Deane family were emigrating to America and it's they who Mary and Ellen gave as an address, i don't know if they were related or not. When John Healy emigrated in 1905 he gave his sister Mary's address it was the wrong sister, it was Nellie or Ellen's address. It was 145 Woodland Ave, New Rochelle, Westchester, New York and she is recorded as single and living at this address in the 1905 New York State Census, after that the trail on Ellen/Nellie and John runs cold. After 1901 Mary Healy's story also runs cold until a nephew of their's emigrates to America in 1930 (the only relation from Ireland to emigrate to America! after them), he gives an address of going to his aunt Mary McCarthy 545 Brook Avenue New York, there is no McCarthy in our family so one must assume that Mary married a McCarthy man so when i checked i found a Mary Healy with roughly the same birth year with exactly the same parents married a Charles McCarthy a widower in Scarsdale NY on 26 Feb 1916. I checked later census but couldn't find anything, did Charles die within a few years of marriage, had they children (Mary was 40 ish when she got married), was Charles the name he was known as (for example he may be called Charles John McCarthy but was known as John etc). The address of 545 Brook Ave NY also seems incomplete. My trail runs dry after that as the nephew that emigrated to America in 1930 married and had 2 sons but died within 10-15 years of arriving there and his family lost contact with their father's family in Ireland, hopefully we will find then again sometime but for the moment i would love to find out what ! happened to Mary, Ellen and John, if anybody knows anything it would b e greatly appreciated, thanking you, Jimmy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
