It shows James Malone obtained 162.22 acres on 9/4/1896 in Klamath County, at Township 415, Range 14 E: a. the East half of the Southwest Quarter in Section 18 b. the Northeast quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section 19 c. the lot/tract 3 of Section 18. by clicking on the Map radio dial box, you can get a general idea where it was located. Let me know if you had not found this property before. --in 1896, this James would have been about 44, to young to be the father, so it has to be James Daniel. --Son's Jessie and Robert also obtained land in this method. After school, he entered into an apprenticeship to learn the iron moulder's trade. soon mastered, came to California in 1874, in 1876 moved to Klamath county. etc. etc. The New York City database of births begins 1878 The 1850 census has an Ellen Dempsey, age 21 in New York City. No record of marriage between Malone and Dempsey.
