I have been working on this family for a number of years. It seems like there was one main family in Westchester namely Salem and Bedford area through the years. I know that some lived in Boutonville for a period of time around the Rev. War. namely Thomas b. 1723 d.Mar of 1797 Salem and June Harford b.? d. Mar 1797 also. Later on their son Ephriam b.1757 inherited the land and raised his family there. I know that Thomas had a son Peter b. 1758 in Salem or Minisink Or. Co. who lived just over the border in Bedford and he later inherited that property. Later a Brady own this property. Peter and Ephriam are both Patriots listed with the DAR Rev. War. This area is now the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation State Park.... I have had 2 Harford men in my notes through the years that were playing hard to get in my research. One was a James b. abt 1755 and the other one John b. abt 1758.. James is on 1790 to 1810 census’ and John abt. the same. I have James marrying Esther Lockwood and John marrying Ruth Avery. I can’t find who their children were except for a couple or who their parents were. Recently I had some info on Thomas given to me. I found out he was born in London, Eng. This info also listed his children filling in some blanks for me.. one was a Gersham b. abt 1750, I have no info on him.. John and James also b. in early 1750’s These have to be to 2 men l mentioned up above The other 2 sons are Peter and Ephraim b. 1757 both of whom I have info. There are dau.s of Thomas and June also that I have come across in my searching.. Sarah, Nancy, Mary, Anna, There may have been a Hannah who married a Abraham Blodget. I have had a lot of help from people in Pound Ridge, No. Salem and Lewisboro regarding this family for which I’m very thankful The girls married into the Green families, Slawson, Griffens.... Most of the Harfords moved on to the other Ny. counties mid 1800’s as well as western states. The few that stayed were my 3xgr grandfather John Cross Harford and Azube Wood in Pound Ridge area with their family. One son was my 2x gr.grandfather Joseph and Eliza Platt Ferris Harford also of Pound Ridge area. He was a Civil War Vet as well as his brother Thomas F. Harford who lost his life in Va. He was the only son that left male descendants. His wife was Catherine Scofield who later remarried. Would love to know more abt. Thomas’s children especially Gersham, James and John. One more mystery remains..who was <<Widdow Hartfor age 99>>>>> mentioned in the Christ Church Deaths. she d. Jan 28 1776 b. abt 1677, Can she be Thomas’s mother Hannah who came from Eng. with Thomas? Would love to hear more abt. these families. I appreciate any amount of info that’s out there.....and would be willing to share what I have.. Thank you for reading this long email. you have all been very helpful to me through the years... Sandee from NH
