    1. [NYWESTCH] OBIT Lillian Kisslinger Kelly

    3. Lillian Kisslinger Kelly was born in NYC and raised in Queens, NYC. Prior to marrying Edward Kelly, she was an executive secretary in Manhattan's advertising field and would often say those execs were the wittiest people she ever met. My hunch is that her wit was contagious. Even in suburban Mahopac NY, Lillian never missed an issue of the New York Post. Lillian admired Ed Koch, supported unions, and took pride in everything she put her name to, including everyday family dinners. She knew her responsibilities, and she knew her American rights. Lillian's humor had a spark of irreverence that would make you think twice. Lillian could outthink any over-educated boss. It was this tenacity and intelligence that got Lillian Kelly elected to Shop Steward of the Village of Ossining Civil Service Employees Union, and garnered her full votes from the difficult to please DPW and Street Department men. We called her our Norma Rae. In her personal life, Lillian was an ever-loving, ever-supporting, ever-loyal wife, mother, sister, cousin, and friend. She will be remembered for her indefatigable gift of transplanting love into everyone in her reach. ********************** KELLY, Lillian Louise Kisslinger Lillian Kelly, 84, of Stuart, FL, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on September 15, 2014 in Hospice care at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. She was born in New York on May 27, 1930 to Charles and Elizabeth Kisslinger. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Edward Kelly, her son, Kevin Kelly (Julie) and daughter, Deirdre Westmark (Robert) and three grandchildren, Wendi Westmark, Brad Westmark and Nicholas Kelly, her cousins, Joan Ecker, Joe Kisslinger (Nancy), Andrea Kern and her extended family including her niece and two nephews and many cousins whom she cherished. For over 40 years Ed and Lillian made their home in Mahopac, NY where they raised their children. Lillian spent many years working for the Village of Ossining in New York in an administrative role for the Parks and Recreation Department. There she served as president of the union, a position she was very proud of. Shortly after retirement she became a full time grandmother. Ten years ago Ed and Lillian made Stuart, FL their permanent home. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother to Wendi, Brad and Nicholas. Lillian instilled the value of life's focus on God and family to all her children. Private services will be held Saturday, September 20 in the chapel at Edward Kelly's residence: The Stuart Lodge, 1301 SE Palm Beach Rd, Stuart, FL 34994.
