    3. Most of the graves in the Sparta Cemetery were moved to Dale cemetery. I know a lot of my family had that done to them.                Bill Forshay - San Antonio, TX From: Donna Vaughn via <nywestch@rootsweb.com> To: Ellen Brown <ebandec@hotmail.com>; nywestch@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, August 17, 2015 8:27 PM Subject: Re: [NYWESTCH] Cemetery Question Please St. Augustine's and Sparta are two additional cemeteries in Ossining. I'm guessing Dale Cemetery but on find a grave they are not listed. Has anyone out there dealt with Dale Cemetery?  I have both dates of death:  1863  Margaret Heleker (found yesterday !!) and 1872 Charles Heleker Would any other cemetery be considered in Sing Sing ? 3. Sparta Cemetery is very much in existence, at the juncture of Rt 9 aka Highland Avenue and Revolutionary Road. Headstones were made of sandstone, and very few are legible today. Carl Oeschner led his students through this cemetery and taught them how to do gravestone rubbings there. Not all of those originally interred here were removed to Dale Avenue Cemetery. Technically the cemetery is not in Sing Sing, but is located in a section called Scarborough. I lived in Sparta and know this area very well.
