These families are all related and descend from Jakob Gorlej and Anna Nemetti. Their chldren were Anna (1877-1951) married to Joseph Ference; Josef (1881-1971)married to Catherine Maciaga; Catherine (1884-1973) married to Joseph Cwik; Mary (1885-1937) married to Andrew Ferenz; Jan (John) -- he remained in Poland; and Peter (1892-1960). Jakob and Anna Gorley and their children were from the town of Grabiny, Straszecin Parish, Poland. Originally the town was in Galicia, Austria-Hungary, but now lies within Poland. Their children except for Jan emigrated to the U.S. around the turn of the century. Most went to Greenwich, CT first and then eventually made their way to Port Chester, NY. Only one - Joseph - moved from CT and came to NJ. Anna, Catherine, Mary and Peter are all buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Port Chester, NY. I recently made contact with a descendant of the Cwik family and would really like to make contact with relatives of the other families as well in order to complete my research and fill in any gaps.
