Joseph jun was born in 1856 in NY and 21 at the time of the affidavit.I don't know when he was send back to Germany, but I know for certain that his 3 boys, all born in Germany, were not called up in 1914 as the German law prefers "jus sanguine" and classified his male heirs as Americans.
