"Linda R. Tapley, 67, passed away January 3, 2016, at her home in Virginia Beach VA, after a courageous battle with cancer. "She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Tapley; sister, Michelle Guilmain (Bruce); uncle, Martin Silverstein (Renee); family, life-long friends, and her beloved dog, Maggie Mae. She is predeceased by her loving mother, Jeanne [Silverstein] Mandel; and her first husband, Don Thompson. "Linda was born in Brooklyn, NY, graduated from Yorktown High School, Yorktown Heights, NY and earned a degree in journalism from Becker Junior College, Worcester MA. She was an exceptional sales, marketing, and advertising consultant. In the late-seventies, she was Director of public Relations for Chuck Norris Karate Studios in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, where she also helped to promote several of his movies. In 2013, she retired from GEICO, after a successful career as a human resources senior employment specialist. Linda was a rare and special person. She was wise, kind, generous, funny and a friend to all. She will be remembered with much laughter and love. "A gathering to celebrate her life will be held int he near future.
