    2. Bill Forshay
    3. Hi: I have a couple of questions for you. William was sent to America at 10 years old, was he a preacher? You said Jane Barnes was born about 1734 and was married about 1734. that seems pretty young to be getting married. Bill Forshay - San Antonio, TX GonyaJL@aol.com wrote: Hi, Maureen -- was notified that the material I sent Bill was too large and so is up for review -- I'll be informed as to whether it goes through or not. Meanwhile here is the letter part. Do send me your email address and I'll send you the attachment. Jean Bill, I found the information I have about Foshay. William Forster, b. 1710 in England, was sent to America about 1720 by the English Society for the Propagation of the Gospel. He settled in Rye, NY and was also high sherrif in Westchester County. He married Jane Barnes about 1734. Jane was born about 1734 and died Nov. 7, 1797. Together William and Jane had a son, Marmaduke, b. 1735. Although there is no record of divorce, Jane apparently did divorce William and then married William Foshay, with whom she had nine children! Jane was the daughter of Underhill Barnes, born 1694. His lineage can be traced back to Edward Barnes, b. 1580, d. 1657. Jane's mother was Miriam Baxter, b. 1696. Her lineage can be traced back to George Baxter, b. 1600. I am a descendant of Marmaduke Forster! ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. *************************************** Have you checked out the Westchester County GenWeb site yet? http://www.rootsweb.com/~nywestch/ *************************************** ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NYWESTCH-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message --------------------------------- Ahhh...imagining that irresistible "new car" smell? 2. J.H.
    3. Dear Group, I can't thank you all enough for going out of your way to help me in looking up my MADUSKE family in the 1910 census. I received several suggestions/ideas to which I will look into. Bob & David found this family below in the 1910 census - which I copied all the information to go over & see if they fit when I find out more, as a lot of it looks "close". Can I ask one more question? How do I go about getting an "Inquest" or "Coroners Report", as both deaths required an "inquest is pending" on their death certificates. One shot himself - the other died with a blow to the head - fractured skull. I really mean this "Thank you so much". 2. Bill this sounds like the Historical Society website, they have links to old records and the form uses the archive number starting with an A. If you search around the "The Westchester Historical Society" I'm sure it will turn up, just google the name. "The other day I found a list of the Revolutionary War soldiers with some of my relatives on it. It was on some Westchester site. 1. [NYWESTCH] Question - for 1910 Census
    2. J.H.
    3. Dear Group, I am asking this question, because after found out most of this information I then did not have Ancestry anymore. But I do remember looking for this info when I had Ancestry & did not find it. Wondering if you can - If you have the time (I could wait until Ancestry is free again)! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What I have - 1900 Census - Queens, NY Maduske, John, born 1849 - Otilie, born 1858 - August, born 1884 & Olga, born 1890 1910 Census - Manhattan, NY Maduske, John (killed himself 3 days after census) 1920 Census - Manhattan, NY Anderson, Chas - Otillia - Whalen, Olga & 4 kids ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What I am looking for - 1 - 1910 Census - the wife - Ottilia, Otilie, Tillie Maduske (as she did not remarry until Aug. 1910). Where was she! 2 - 1910 Census - the daughter - Olga Maduske - (she married Charles Whalen in 1910 I believe, as her 1st. child was born Aug. 1910) 3 - 1910 Census - the son - August Maduske - (when he died in 1914 his death certificate said "Married"). Please only if you have time to mess around in the 1910 census. I already got the death certificates for John & August Maduske & they are buried in the same cemetery, as family I know of, in St. Michael's Cemetery (Olga & Ottilie/Tillie), But both their death certificates just say "Married" no wife name & I need this proof to prove whom they are. My brother is going to St. Michael's to check this out, as St. Michael's will not even tell me WHERE they are buried in the cemetery, until I send them $25.00 for them to go into their back files for the information. I just know you are going to run with this as I have seen you do with any inquiry that has come in & I would so appreciate that, as you guys are better at this then I - but please know you do not have to. Thanks, June :-)

Item # 280102821289 The photo is of a Sarah SEE EMBREE, Civil War era; and other surnames mentioned in the description include FOSHAY and DAVIS, and it is of the Greenburgh/Tarrytown area. There is also a photo of William FOSHAY (I believe that is the name of someone on this list), which is item # 280102633853 and others offered by this seller. 1. [NYWESTCH] O'ROURKE - New York State
    2. Good Afternoon, I don't know if anyone can help me but am looking for any information on an O'Rourke probably from the Westchester area. These are the parents of my cousin and she said they never talked about either family nor did she ever meet anyone from either family. Her father might mention Westchester or Rye New York but would not talk about them. I have to assume Bernard (if real name) attended college because of his occupation in 1930. Her mother's name was Evelyn DEBRANT b. abt. 1892 in Ireland (surname was per her daughter). However my cousin was born in California and it lists her mother's maiden name as BRABANT. Only 1 census has been located, 1930 in Santa Monica, Los Angeles County, California. INFORMATION FROM 1930 CENSUS: Bernard Orourke Santa Monica, Los Angeles, CA 1885 New York White Head DATA: Age 44, 1st m. age 34, b. New York, father b. Ireland, mother b. New York, Veteran. Civil Engineer/Surveying. Evelyn V Orourke Santa Monica, Los Angeles, CA 1891 Ireland White Wife DATA: Age 38, 1st m. age 28, b. Ireland/North, parents b. Ireland, Immigrated 1893, Naturalized. Am sending this to several lists so you might be reading this more than once. If anyone has anyone that might fit the above description in their family that disappeared around 1920 to 1925 (daughter was age 5 in 1930 Census) please contact me. 3. I know King Street really well and my husband has done his daily walks up and down. I can't imagine where a cemetery would be. Does anyone have a location? Is it part of Lyon's Farm..(Which has now become a condo)....right across the street from the North Baptist Church, is a high rise apt. building...as you walk up King ST....all houses until Lyon's PArk with the Bush Homestead...maybe at the Bush Homestead? You then.cross over Regent St....the next patch of woods was after Quintard Drive and before the Synogoge....naybe there? ..I think there are houses there now too...then you get to King Street School.....then Folly Farm..and up to Rye Brook...Ward's Casttle and a Nursing home, and then all sorts of 60,70 and80 houses packed in....then you are a the Glenville Rd (To Greenwhich) and the MErritt PArkway...could the cemetery be after the Merritt PArkway? I would love to know where it is.....there is an old Brown Family Cemetery....but not on KIng St... thanks....... 3. I would be interested in any answer too. I grew up a member of the North Baptist Church in Port Chester...(my gradnmother played the organ there...I also belongs to the Summerfield MEthodist Church for awhile as a kid....) it's on the corner of Poningo St and King St. It's a lovely little church...has Tiffany windows. I have not been back for years! Dr. Swope was the minister when I was growing up. (Vietnam War era) I never knew of any cemetery...my folks (Baptists from Port Chestr) are buried in Forest Park? Forest Lawn(I forget the name) in Rye..at the end of Playland PArkway...it's old and beautiful! Alot of folks left the North BAptist Church in the 70s and 80s....went up to Greenwich or over to White Plains...or just passed away....
