Sandee No, that Thomas was not mentioned in the book. Only Hanfords, and the Thomases were a Norwalk reverend who died in 1693 and his son. I see that a early John Cross was one of the first settlers in the Bedford area. He later settled in Windsor, Ct. but it looks like he is the same Stam. line. I have to look at the whole census for Cross's though, I just have Peters info. He was widowed by then. His name is also listed in Simeon Brady's will . Simeon must of owned land that was Peters at one time and Simeon willed it to his son Ruben. This will was in Salem in 1806. Simeon's marriage #2 was to a Hannah M. Harford. There is no photographer or location identified on the photograph though it appears to have been taken in the 1880's or 1890's with Emanuel likely in his 60's or 70's at the time and Catherine about 3 years old. There are a lot of Rev War vets in Sparta Cemetery. On the other hand, Elizabeth, Solomon's wife was the daughter of Elizabeth Post (as well as Peter Foseur). Bill, It should all be on the Sherwood pp of the MacKenzie manuscript, except burial info. I'm not sure where they are buried but it's possible that they are in Sparta. The Sherwoods were staunch Presbyterians and many of them attended services at the little church there in front of the cemetery. A while back I was given a list of Sparta church members from that era and the Sherwoods were very active members it seems.Also too both Solomon and his brother Job were Rev War veterans. I am getting in late on the SHERWOOD discussion, but wonder if there is a connection to some family members that would have been living in the Ossining and Tarrytown areas in the 1900's and possibly some are still in the area: Agnes MC CABE born in Ossining around 1880 married a Charles SHERWOOD; their daughter, Anna Mae, married a William McNAUGHTON), I believe one of their children was named Virginia & was a musician who studied in NYC.
