Hi, My name is JoAnn Mesner. I am looking for any information about the Williams that lived on Robin St. in New Rochelle in the 20's and 30's. They had a son named Anthony J. who married my aunt, Ethel Bitterman in 1925. Thank you.
Hi, Have you tried looking at this site? I have found quite a few obits and other articles about my New Rochelle ancestors: http://www.fultonhistory.com/Fulton.html Best Wishes! Find a grave does not have every internment for Holy Sepulchre. Contact the cemetery. While they will tell you about the fire and loss of all original records, it is as was said, they've rebuilt the list as best they can. Contacting them directly is your best option. Either phone or letter. I would recommend a letter over a phone call. As you'll likely get a longer and better prepared answer, at the cost of having to wait longer for an answer. Or even better go there yourself, in person. Not an option for me at the moment. Brian On Wed, January 4, 2012 9:02 pm, Margarets gmail wrote: > Thank all of you who replied.. New Rochelle is a sweet commute to NYC, like 20 minutes. However, it had a poshy section, and later developed an inncer city/crime ridden section in the late 1950s. Today, it still has these distinctions. My instinct says they had no reason to move from there. You might just phone the cemetery seeking a plot, or the local Catholic church. The Shea Place address is where Blessed Sacrament Church is located. The actual cemetery is located at the Highland Avenue address. >From what I remember from researching at the cemetery (it was a few years ago), there was a fire at the cemetery in the 1970s, which destroyed all the records. The staff at the time went through the cemetery and recorded all the data that was legible on the tombstones, but anyone whose stone was worn or did not have a stone was lost to the fire. hi listers, I am looking for an address for Miss Bessie Stewart who lived at New Rochelle, in 1946. She also could be listed as "Miss Mary Elizabeth Stewart'' born 1884 Scotland. She could have been "in service" and she might have died at New Rochelle, but I do not know when. My greataunt was apparently visiting her friend from Canada, and gave the location on the immigration card from Trans Canada airlines. I would appreciate any sources for finding her at this year. If I am lucky, she might just show up in 1940 census! thanks liz of Canada

Hi Margaret: There are 2 main cemeteries in New Rochelle: Beechwoods, which is non-sectarian, and Holy Sepulchre, which is Catholic. Holy Sepulchre belongs to Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle. I would begin your search with those 2 cemeteries. Good luck! Hi: I understand there is a DEAN Vault in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Westchester Co., New York. It has a list of names that are buried in the vault. Would it be possible for someone to get me the list of names on that door? I appreciate any help I can get on this research. Bill Forshay - San Antonio, TX
