The relatives i am searching for are : Patrick Hyland: born Ireland abt 1838 and his wife Margaret Johnston: born Ireland abt 1835-40 Margaret Johnston is my 3x great aunt. All their family were raised in the Westchester area. They had a son named James Hyland born New York 16 Dec 1858 He married a lady named Margaret no birth or death for her. James and Margaret had 2 children: Katherine ( or Kathryn) Agnes Hyland born 1888 died 1923. John Vincent Hyland born 1880 died abt 1942 Katherine married a Ralph Benjamin Feriola. They had 3 children: Dorothy Ruth born 1915, Ralph jr born 1919 died 1935, Katherine Gloria born 1922 No marriage or children found for John Vincent The blanks i would like to fill in on the family tree are: A date of birth and death for Patrick Hyland and Margaret Johnston. And a possible date of death for their son James. I have come to the conclusion that either Margaret Johnston or Patrick Hyland may have died at an early age. I only know of the one son, James. And it seems odd they only had the one, considering most couples in those days had rather large families I do hope someone can help. I am in the UK and it's not easy to just 'hop' on a plane to the local archives office :-) Kind regards Janette Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have ordered a copy of the obituary. And I have a better date for the death record: 9 Feb 1865 Now that I have the exact date, I can hopefully order a copy of the record directly from the agency that holds the record. Does anyone know the address and fees involved? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hi Art, In the 1960s an older high school phys ed teacher was Mrs. DOWNING. The first suggestion I'd suggest for a Yorktown death is Amawalk Cemtery. The Huntsville Daily Times published in Huntsville, AL May 1 1915 Page/Column: Page 8, Column 5 Another Fight For Circus Man’s Millions ---------------------- (Special to The Daily Times) White Plains, N. Y., May 1 – Argument will be heard in the Appellate Court next week on the appeal from the order of Judge KOOGH setting aside the verdict and granting a new trial in the will fight for the $5,000,000 estate left by BAILEY, the circus man, of Barnum & Bailey. When Mrs. Ruth L. BAILEY, the widow, died a few years ago, her will was contested by her sister, Mrs. Anna J. HITCHINSON, who claimed that her brothers, Joseph T. and Theo McCADDEN, influence Mrs.BAILEY , their sister, to leave her an annuity of $10,000 a year while they inherited the major part of the millions. A jury recently sustained the will, but Justice KOOGH set aside the verdict and granted a new trial. http://www.newspaperabstracts.com/link.php?action=detail&id=93974

Please email me privately so we can work on this? The nose and high forehead are very predominate features throughout the Depews. My Depew line never left the area. Chauncey's brother William Beverly was in Buffalo before 1865. William only had 2 sons that I know of. Ganson whose only son, Ganson Goodyear died at the age of 29 in South Carolina.I do not think he married. His other son Chauncey Mitchell Depew d. Italy in 1917. He did marry but I do not have any children for them. I did extensive on site research in Buffalo and of course on my home turf of Peekskill. You have mentioned the name Claude and Robert. There are 2 Claudius in my Depew line, one who had sons William and Robert, as I mentioned in a previous email. I would like to help you sort this out, but not on here, it is too time consuming. As a child it was displayed in my grandfather's living room. The physical resemblance is unmistakable. What purpose the photo was I do not know but its existence says that they are indeed connected. My grandfather and my own father have his features as well. I may not have all my facts straight and have not dug deeply but am told the connection might be more linked through Chauncey's brother William, though I'm not clear if that is his name. My whole life I have been told of the relationship. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
