She was born in 1908. For years we have tried to find any records on her life. She remembers having a younger brother, Walter when she was placed in the home. She also remembers the train ride to Tarrytown but the rest is very vague. The only official document we have is from the Institute of Mercy, 1075 Madison Ave in NYC dated 11/16/1928 stating that she was baptized at the Institute in NYC on 6/16/1916..... any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. See Dick Eastman's newletter about the 1940 Federal Census which is now available for New York state. Also, Ancestry has added the 1892, 1915 and 1925 State censuses. However, only the 1915 and 1925 are available for Westchester County. Read the following for more information: http://blog.eogn.com/eastmans_online_genealogy/2012/06/1940-us-federal-census-for-new-york-plus-three-state-censuses-dating-to-1892-are-now-available-exclu.html Note: the above link will probably wrap onto more than one line.

Often a directory of a specific area, will list street names as well as name changes. Dates of name changes are important when looking for a property since it may yeild the original name and any subsequent name changes. Sanborn fire insurance maps might also show the street changes over time. A tediuos but well worth the effort especially in a built up area. A local library may have copies or an historical society may help in finding them.
