If u look at the census of 1880 they were apparently listed together, each with their own wives and families. Still looking to solve a mystery in connection with a John Staples who lived in Manhattan (Greenwich) and died in 1809. Married to Amy Purdy 1798. John and Amy both from New Rochelle John's mother lived with him in 1803 and was identified as Elizabeth Ransom so John's father apparently died and his mother remarried making finding his father rather tricky. In searching for John's father I find a cemetery listing from New Rochelle with Elizabeth Lispenard died 1797 and her daughter Elizabeth, LATE WIFE OF JOHN STAPLE died Nov 1797 at 39 years 7 months. Also stated is the fact that the cemetery has been destroyed and some remains were removed to the ' Lispenard Family Vault at Trinity Episcopal Church in Manhattan'. Where would this Church be ? The John Staples Vault is in St Pauls Churchyard but I find no Lispenards in that cemetery. Too many Johns and Elizabeths. Stephen was the son of the Goody Elizabeth Clawson that was accused of witchcraft by Katherine Branch. I am researching my notes because the names you mentioned are familiar. If it helps any I believe that Samuel may have been born in Rye NY in 1692. I think Samuel's parents were Stephen Miller and Mary Loomer they married in 1683 and had John 1684, Mary 1687, Elizabeth 1695-1718, Samuel 1692- 1786 and Martha 1689... this is all I have I know I saw this line in my notes. I am searching for the marriage line that brought the Millers, Theale and Ambler family together before 1692 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I search by typing in the search bar(the name is just an example): Yonkers NY Herald Statesman and John w/1 Smith then in the next bar hit the down arrow select boolean and that way only articles from the Herald statesman will show up instead of every newspaper that the site provides! There's lots of search tips on the site under the FAQ and sometimes it can run a little slow! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. In 1900 there are two Alonzo's living in Greenburgh, yours, who is 30, and Alonzo G. who is 33. There is only one in 1910 and it is Alonzo G. and he has been married to Marcella for 18 years. She is married to Alonzo Lewis and she is living next door to her brother Robert in Irvington on the Hudson. then in 1910, I find an Alonzo Lewis living with wife Marcella. So wondering if Sarah Jane died and Alonzo remarried. I really know very little about this couple and would appreciate any help to trace Sarah Jane MacDonald, who married a Lewis and this might be her. According to Sarah's sister obit, Sarah was living in Yonkers in 1907 but perhaps Alonzo moved back to Irvington if Sarah died. In 1900, Alonzo and Sarah Jane are the last persons on the page so don't know if there were any children documented on the next page. Thanks ever so much. Even if someone were able to find out on the 1910 how long Alonzo was married to Marcella. Peggy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I've been doing research on my Barr family and think maybe I'm distantly connected to you. My 7th gr-grandfather James Barr (1669) had a brother Alexander(1671), who would be your gr-grandfather of some number, not sure. I followed the generations up and came to Andrew McLean Barr and his family. Is your father James Douglas Barr? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
