Hi Susan - regarding not being able to find your family in the 1880 census - have you tried looking for the neighbors from the 1870 census? Then look forward and backward a few pages allowing for the population increase. This has worked for me many times - just an idea. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Greetings. Flora McMore was born (presumably in Fort Anne) in 1884. This comes according to the writing on the back of an old photograph of her. I just inherited the photo. I have only guesses as to who this Flora was. Good news: I love old family photos! Bad news: A whole new mystery! (Okay, that's both bad and good news. <g>) Flora's married name was Wilson and I believe she married Albert H. Wilson. It is possible that Flora was the daughter of Ann McKinney and her husband, Norman McMore, both of Fort Anne. I have not been able to find Norman's family in the 1880 census. That would show his children. He appears in the 1870 census of Washington County and also later on, but not in 1880. Is anybody chasing either the McMores, the Wilsons (of South Bay) or the McKinneys (also of South Bay)? Thanks for any tips.
