    3. Hi All; Yes, they would refer to him as Squire for he was a land owner. Not a tenet farmer. They used this over in the British Isles as a form of respect. For sometimes the land owner rent out his land to various people to farm and pay him a certain amount in what they grew. I'm hope I'm right here .
