I use Heritage Quest On-Line, which I get free from my county library system. (I believe that Ancestry.com also makes Heritage Quest available for its subscribers.) I also recommend the Godfrey Memorial Library, which has four different subscription plans form which to choose. The best thing about the Godfrey Memorial Library subscription is that it gives you access to 18th and 19th century newspapers and 19th century county histories, nation wide. Google Book Search is also a fantastic free resource. I have also found the Family Message Boards on Genealogy.com to be very helpful and the community of researchers, who subscribes to this e-mail list, is also very knowledgeable and helpful.
Leslie - Do the Godfrey Memorial Library 19th Century newspaper archives include online access to Capital District newspapers, including Washington-Warren-Saratoga County newspapers of that era? Thanks, Mike Huggins (I would love to see someone get a grant to have the Crandall Library newspaper microfilm archives digitized; ACC, too). -----Original Message----- From: nywashin-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:nywashin-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of LBPotter@comcast.net Sent: Thursday, February 19, 2009 2:28 PM To: nywashin@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [NYWASHIN] Washington County Research Tools I use Heritage Quest On-Line, which I get free from my county library system.
