Source, The Whitehall Times--Thur. May 27, 1976. WHITEHALL, N.Y. MRS. SARAH G. LEWIS. Mrs. Sarah G. Lewis, 81, of 42 Williams street, died last Saturday at the Glens Falls hospital. Mrs. Lewis , who was born in Poultney, Vt., on Sept. 26, 1894, was the daughter of the late Richard L. and Margaret Davies Evans. She was a member of the First Baptist church of Whitehall. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. James Day of Whitehall ; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Wilma Baldwin of Albany and Mrs. Thelma Massey of Sheffield, Mass ; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jennie Lewis of Granville and Mrs. Emma Traversari of Miller Falls, Mass; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at the Jillson funeral home Tuesday morning by the Rev. Roger Blinn, pastor of the First Baptist church. Burial was in Greenmount cemetery.
