Can anyone identify this cemetery from the following description ?? I can give you directions to the cemetery. It is at the fork where Quaker St. and Rt. 22. When we found it, we parked next door in a Veterinary office lot w/ a pea-stone gravel driveway. The stone had been broken in half and knocked over. The cemetery was covered with overgrowth. Most of the stones had been overturned and strewn about the lot. And if anyone lives close by, I sure would like a photo of a stone Thanks for any help you can give me Bob Farrell Researching the 123rd and 169th NY _www.28thga.org_ (http://www.28thga.org/) **************Gas prices getting you down? Hi Bob, What town or village would the cemetery be in? Good to know you are still on line. I had what I thought was a brainstorm recently. With the 150th anniversary of the 123rd in 2012 I am going to suggest to the organizers of the annual July 4th parade in Salem (my home town) that they form a section for descendants, direct or otherwise, to march as a group in honor of the regiment. I hope they agree. I have two great uncles and one cousin that were of the 123rd. Bob Farrell, Jim Tyler I recently learned that there was a large portrait of Lieutenant and then Captain Hiram Otis Warren ( 123rd Regiment, Company K) on the wall of his descendants home in Hampton, NY. The contents of this house were auctioned off , perhaps in the 1950's. I am curious as to where it ended up. Is there any data base which would have such information on it ? There is a Mr. Robinson who purchased a picture a few years ago and we were in contact. I am now wondering if it is the same portrait. Sounds like the little cemetery not far from the Route 22 / 149 / Quaker Street intersections in Granville. ----- Original Message ----- From: <CWfan2@aol.com> To: <nywashin@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, June 21, 2008 7:58 AM Subject: [NYWASHIN] Identify Cemetery ?? > Can anyone identify this cemetery from the following description ?? > > I can give you directions to the cemetery. I believe you are talking about the Old Quaker or Friends Yard in Granville NY. I don't remember it being overgrown but it has been many years since I have visited it.
