    3. Has Leslie violated some rule none of us even knew about? I mean, everybody knows she's been researching this for years and I (along with others) have been *waiting* for years for this work to be published! She can't make a simple announcement that it's finally going to happen? It's not like she's in it for the money, or she would've written a book about something else! Leslie, if you must unsubscribe, please add me to your personal e-mail list so that I know where I may purchase the book when it's released. Sean Dixon girlsean@gmail.com

    3. Unsubscribing over a simple announcement seems totally inappropriate. On another list that I subscribe to, the moderator has allowed two or three similar announcements over the last several years - i.e. they are very infrequent. In one instance that I'm familiar with, she asked Rootsweb about the appropriateness of the posting before it was made. The answer given was that, provided it was directly pertinent to the list, then it was OK by them. That answer was given about three years ago concerning a genealogical book about a particular family line posted to a list dealing with the region in which many of them lived. I am also familiar with another instance that was permitted when a regional historical society had some particularly relevant material available. It seems to me that Leslie's work is definitely relevant to this list. Unless someone at Rootsweb over-rules us I would urge our moderator to be tolerant in this instance.
