Mrs. Mercy Busteed is spending a few days in Clemens. J. L. Mock is erecting a baker shop north of his grocery. Miss Hazel Markstone has been spending a few days in Plattsburgh. Miss Florence Coon of Castleton, Vt., is visiting Miss Miranda Beckwith. Miss Else Manville, who is attending Syracuse university,is home on a vacation. Mr. and Mrs. James Burleigh will occupy rooms in the Chapman building. W.S. McLachlin of Lake George has been a guest of his father and sister. Mrs. Benjamin Long is seriously ill of pneumonia at her home on Canal street. Mr. Buel of Burlington was a guest of his mother, Mrs. George H. Buel, last week. Harry Falitz and his friend, L Traeger, students of the R.P.I., Troy, are in town. Miss Bernice Shinners of the Champlain academy, Port Henry, is home for a vacation. Boyd Carr has accepted a position as bookkeeper with the Brown Cooperage company at Clemons. George Beckwith has the contract for building a tenement house for Patrick Casey on West street. Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Wilson of New York are in town, guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilson of Sixth street. Miss Elizabeth Harding of Smith College has been spending a few days with her mother, Mrs. Charles Harding. W.C.Kittridge of Tomhannock, formerly of the firm of Hall & Kittridge, this village, has been visiting old friends in town. The forty hours' devotion began at the Church of Our Lady of Angels at 10 o'clock Sunday. Father McLoughlin was assisted by a number of visiting clergymen.
