    1. Re: [NYWASHIN] RC Church in Middle Granville
    2. I am jumping in on this and hope you will do a lookup for me. My great-grandparents were supposed to have been married in Washington Co. in 1875. It was a mixed marriage--my great-grandfather was Carholic and my great-grandmother a Protestant. At least one of their children was raised Catholic. So I am assuming tha they were married if not in a church, at least by a priest. Their names were David HOURIGAN (or a variant spelling of HORRIGAN, HORIGAN etc). Her name was Elizabeth HILL. Appreciate your kindness. Carmel was the Catholic Church in Middle Granville. owever, I don't think that was established until about 1867. Prior to that here was a Catholic Mission St. Patrick's in West Granville. I'm not sure hat they even had a building. The priest may have traveled to different omes and had masses there. If anyone knows differently, I would love to now. I do know that the records for Our Lady of Mt. Carmel are at St. Mary's n Granville. I was told that the records for St. Patrick's no longer xist. However, I found that the American-Canadian Genealogical Society in anchester, NH has transcription of the records of some of the French hurches in that area. I found several of my relatives records (born prior to 867) in these books . You can check out their website or if you know a name will look it up. I only have the books for Notre Dame des Victiores in hitehall, NY. hope this helps ------------------------------ o unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NYWASHIN-request@rootsweb.com ith the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of he message
