I am looking for information on Sarah Turner ( Aug 1782-May 8 1844) who married Shubael Swain, a ship captain who had moved from Nantucket to NYC in 1803. When she died her body was shipped to Newburgh with no funeral parlor listed, so I think the body was headed in a different direction. I am checking out several sites to see if anyone has information on her. In several books she is referred to as Sally of New York. I have no idea where she came from. Thanks, Sue Maxwell
Sue, Quite a few people from Nantucket moved to Hudson, NY. There were Swains there in 1800.
